The rain was louder than the radio
so we turned it up again
and drove until the streetlights
ran out of road
Made for the car
Browse, search and play from the Android Auto screen, or ask out loud.
"Hey Google, play … on NexMusic" works by voice. Tapping a search result in the car plays that song straight away.
Made For You
A Dynamic Island on Android
While music plays, a pill wraps around your front camera. Tap it for controls, hold it to open the app.
Turn it on in Library → Dynamic Island. It runs as an accessibility service, because Android needs one to draw over the status bar. It does not read your screen.

NexMusic questions
Is it free?
Yes. No account and no subscription.
Where does the music come from?
NexMusic plays from YouTube Music. Its streaming core comes from the open-source SimpMusic project, and NexMusic is licensed under GPL-3.0 like it.
Which APK should I pick?
arm64-v8a for most phones made in the last several years. armeabi-v7a for older 32-bit phones, x86_64 for emulators and Chromebooks, universal if you're unsure and don't mind a bigger file.
How do I check the download?
Every release is signed with the same certificate, whose SHA-256 is 16e1f611d138efafda458149cd9d6111e635ab6b706db819f6ea5fe48e7213d8. Android refuses an update signed with any other.
Why does the Dynamic Island need accessibility access?
Android only lets an accessibility service draw over the status bar. NexMusic uses it for the pill and does not read your screen.
