A button appears over any video playing in your browser. Click it and pick a quality right on the page.

Works on YouTube and the 1,800+ sites yt-dlp supports, plus any HLS, DASH or MP4 stream a player loads. NexGet starts reading the video as soon as it plays, so the menu is usually instant.

Your browser hands over

Files of the types you choose go to NexGet instead of the browser's own downloader.

Right-click a link for Download with NexGet, or a page for Download all links and tick the ones you want. If NexGet is closed, the browser downloads as usual.

A queue and a speed limit

Line files up, run them a few at a time, and cap the speed so the rest of the house can still stream.

Pause anything and resume it later, even after Windows restarts. Closing the window keeps NexGet in the tray.

Copy a link, get the file

Copy a download link anywhere and NexGet offers to fetch it. Paste a batch from the clipboard to add them all.

When a file finishes, Windows tells you, with Open and Open folder one click away.

Once, in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera. Firefox has its own add-on in the download list.

NexGet questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No ads, no account, no trial that runs out.

Why are some videos missing the button?

Start playing the video first: NexGet reads the stream the player loads. DRM-protected video (Widevine or PlayReady), as on paid streaming services, cannot be downloaded by any tool.

A site stopped working. What now?

Sites change often. In NexGet, choose Help, then Update video support. It updates yt-dlp inside NexGet and applies after a restart.

Where does it keep my list?

In %APPDATA%\NexGet: config.json for settings and downloads.json for the list. Errors go to logs\nexget.log, which Help opens for you.

Can websites push downloads into it?

No. NexGet listens only on your own PC, and only accepts requests from its browser extension. Ordinary web pages are refused.
